As many of you already know, DMM has intensified its efforts to enforce geo-restrictions, cracking down on foreign VPNs attempting to access their platform. In addition, they're updating their streaming library to use MPEG DASH for many of their titles, which is breaking compatibility with older devices and software. 

Initial reports from users attempting to avoid the blockade show varying degrees of success, with some managing slow or limited access through certain VPNs, while others face complete blocking. If you are not a Japanese user, it is recommended that you stick to direct downloads at this time to reduce your VPN surface area as much as possible. This is equally true, since it is impossible to know ahead of time which streaming method is used for any particular title as they update their catalogs. If there is anything you wanted to rescue, now is the time!
